Recensione stampante - Printer review (english below) HP OfficeJet 4500 G510g

Salve a tutti !!!
Quest'oggi vorrei comunicarvi la mia soddisfazione più profonda per il mio nuovo acquisto: una multifunzione HP.

In breve:
- Fax
- Fotocopiatrice
- Stampante
- Scanner

2 cartucce (nero e tricromia ... questo la rende un po' svantaggiosa ...)
ADF (automatic document feeder - possibilità di inserire i fogli dall'alto anziché dal vetro)

Connessione USB

Connessione di Rete che si è rilevata MOLTO utile al fine di stampare senza fili: eh già, perché alla modica cifra di 69,00 € da Mediaworld, riesco a stampare senza fili: il mio computer è connesso Wireless al modem dell' ADSL, la multifunzione è connessa alla scatolina, e via !!!

In Windows ho installato tutti i programmi e l'Utility di controllo della stampante sembra pesante ... ma in Linux è tutta un'altra storia !!!

L'altra mia stampante è una Brother DCP-135C comperata in Olanda nel 2007.
Per configurarla è stato un po' difficile, e le prestazioni non sono come l'HP (ma lì ho 4 cartucce comprate a 3€ l'una ...)

Visto che l'HP fa uso del pacchetto "hplip" già presente nella mia distribuzione (e comunque pacchettizzato anche per altre distribuzioni) ho fatto semplicemente così:
1- sono andato in YaST >  stampante > Aggiungi > nell' angolino in basso a destra ho cliccato "Esegui HP setup" > ho cliccato su: Network/Ethernet/ Wireless > ho selezionato la mia stampante (stando bene attento a cliccare HP Officejet 4500 G510g , versione CUPS) e il gioco è fatto !!!
2- Ho riavviato
3- In alto a destra mi è apparsa l'icona HP e da lì si può entrare sia nella stampante che nel fax (e funziona sia l'invio del fax che la stampa, che la scansione !!!)

Hello everybody !!!
Today I'd like to share with you my deepest satisfaction for a new toy I got: an HP multifunction .

In short:
- Fax
- Copy machine
- Printer
- Scanner

2 cartridges (black and colors ... this is not the best ...)
ADF (automatic document feeder - possibility to insert sheets from above

USB connection

Ethernet connection, VERY useful to print wireless: yes, for only 69,00 € at Mediaworld I can print wireless: my computer is connected (wireless) to the DSL modem, the multifuncion is connected to the modem, and that's it !!!

Within Windows I installed all the programs, and the printer Utility (quite bulky), but in Linux it's another story !!!

My other printer is a Brother DCP-135C, bought in Holland in 2007.
It was a bit difficult to configure, and the quality is not the same as the HP (but there I have 4 different cartridges bought for 3€ each ...)

Since the HP uses the "hplip" package already included in my distro (and also included in many other distros) I just did this:
1- I went to YaST > Printer > Add > in the bottom-right corner of the window I clicked on "HP setup" > Network/Ethernet/Wireless > I chose my printer (HP officejet 4500 G510g with CUPS) and that's it !!!
2- I rebooted
3- in the top-right corner of the screen, I got the HP icon, and from there you can access both the printer and the fax (I tried to: send a fax, print and scan, and everything worked !!!)
